Aqua and Coral Half Square Triangle Quilt

One of my goals for this year was to finish the work-in-progress quilts that I have laying around. This one just happen to be in the works for two years, but finally it is complete, yay!I chose from my fabric collection 28 different prints in mostly aqua and coral colors, but added in some yellow and purple to mix things up a bit. This color palette is a favorite of my friend who was the recipient of this quilt. I chose half square triangle blocks (one of my faves) for a classic look. That’s 437 (3″) blocks, which meant a lot of piecing and trimming. No wonder it took me so long to finish!Simple straight stitch quilting echoing the horizontal and vertical seams is pretty standard for me when it comes to this quilt style. And I love to back my quilts with super soft minky fabric and for this one, I found the prettiest coral color.
I delivered this quilt to my friend yesterday and she loved it! It is always so satisfying to make something beautiful for somebody and have them be so appreciative. Definitely a project worth my time and something she can enjoy for many, many years.
